Just when you think it's all gone quiet you suddenly get a message from Ian McLean at 14:16 saying there's an Osprey on the Estuary. Fortunately, I was up by Bridge Marsh so I quickly drove to the Farm gate ( The Gate of Gates) and saw it preparing to 'go in' after a fish. It was successful in this, and carried one off up the Valley at 14:37. You've got to admit - Ospreys are always good value entertainment.

The above picture is of an earlier bird on the Axe this Spring, which hung around a bit longer. This one made off with its prize and didn't stop, as far as I could see. Here's to the next one!
