Seaton Sightings 1--7th July 2015

Green Sandpiper, Black Hole Marsh ( Copyright T D Wright )
Well, the return passage seems to have started. Common and Green sands are here, plus a Knot was seen by I McLean. There's been LRP and Greenshank too ( Tim White & Phil Abbot both texted me). We've also had some small mammals on show. Short-tailed voles and Pygmy shrews ( see video clips above ) have shown in daylight, and Water shrews are also about. The Barn Owl helped itself to one of these species last night in front of the Tower hide. The first signs of Blackwit numbers building up were evident last night too.                                                                                                                             I've also filmed a slow worm which I post here as I'm using the mobile material today!
